So what’s the link? It’s racing families, of course. Damon is son of Graham, the first son of a father who had also won the WDC. Nico Rosberg has since emulated his father Keke; Elfyn is son of Welsh rally legend Gwyndaf; Andretti is arguably the greatest name in American, or even global, racing history; Louis and Jean-Louis were father and son. Louis raced all but two laps of the race on his own, pausing only to rest briefly after changing his Talbot-Lago’s rocker shaft; Graham, Murray’s dad, was an Isle of Man TT winner before becoming a commentator and sharing the booth with his son; Remy’s dad Wayne won the premier class of Grand Prix motorcycle racing in 1987; Tom’s dad is super Swede and rally legend Stig; Harri’s son Kalle is the current World Rally Champion.
