I’ll let Tim, editor of @onlyendurance, introduce this one himself:

People can fall in love with racing and motorsports in so many different ways, but the gateway to my endurance racing addiction came from the early Gran Turismo games.

After my older brother finished playing, I would take control of the Playstation 2, fire-up Gran Turismo 4 and sink hours driving the Pescarolo’s 2004 Courage Judd-GV5.

Sometimes I would even set up endurance races before swimming lessons or visits to my grandparents, letting the AI cruise around for opening stints before coming home and taking up driving duties.

My earliest memories of Le Mans as an entity are intrinsically linked to those iconic blue and green Pescarolo cars – which is why I’ve picked the stunning C60 Hybrid from 2005.

Updated aerodynamics, a naturally-aspirated Judd V10 engine and a host of French talent behind the wheel, and you’re looking at a machine that is Le Mans to its very core.

The #16 car from that year should have won the race, an incredible home victory, but mechanical issues plagued the updated car from the second hour onwards. In a classic tortoise-versus-hare, despite getting back on track and setting the pace, the deficit to Audi was too big to overturn, and second place was as good as it would get for the #16.

Le Mans to me is Pescarolo blue and green.

…which is why you’ll find those colours on the Only Endurance logo!
