Since the 2021 season, competitors in the FIA World Endurance Championship have been free – and encouraged – to create distinct number designs for their entries. With this news, Jota Sport contacted me to create a number board for their Mighty 38, originally an LMP2 entry, and then later the Hertz Team Jota Porsche 963.
I was tasked with creating something distinctive, modern and with a nod to the red that has been a key colour throughout Jota Sport’s branding for many years. The number also had to be easily readable, and have a strong contrast edge to ensure legibility.
The original #38 has been joined by #28 and #48 for various uses across the years.
